Iceland

land of fire and ice

An island nation of glaciers and volcanoes, Iceland features stunning landscapes full of contrasting whites, greens and blacks. Winter features more white, summer more green and underlying both year round is the black basalt born from it's more than 100 volcanic systems - 30 of which are still active today.

More than 90% of Iceland's Nordic population of 335,000 people live in it's quirky cool capital city, Reykjavik. As a result, the rest of Iceland is a widespread collection of small, quaint coastal villages and isolated family farms. The middle of nowhere is everywhere else, but it's some of the most breathtaking nowhere you'll ever see.
